March 5, 2014 - Volvo penta, an engine manufacturer and OEM supplier under Volvo Group, has long been famous in North America for its marine engines. Today, the company has become a backbone in the industrial field with a series of engine products suitable for various work rings with short service life

"Volvo penta enjoys a high reputation in the North American shipbuilding field, but our non road engines and generator sets in the industrial field are relatively unknown." Ron huibers, President of Volvo universal Americas, said, "however, this situation will change. This exhibition at CONEXPO is to show our determination to explore the industrial engine market in the Americas. At the same time, no matter in which application field, we have engines and technologies that meet the needs of users."

Volvo penta applies the tried and tested Volvo truck technology to the off-road field, and has launched a full range of 143~700 HP engines that meet the Tier 4 final emission standard, with displacement of 5 L, 8 L, 11 L, 13 L and 16 L respectively, which are suitable for the needs of off-road applications such as material transfer, construction, quarrying, mining, agriculture and so on. In the field of generator equipment, Volvo panda launched a series of engines that meet the Tier 3 standard, with the main power ranging from 96 experimental speed range of 0.01 (5) 00mm/min; KVA to 568 kVA. Volvo Pentax brought D8, D11 and D13 non road engines to CONEXPO, of which the 8-liter model made its debut in the United States

advanced Tier 4 final solution

Volvo penta, located in booth 83830 in South Hall 4, will also show Tier 4 final solution using selective catalytic reduction (SCR) technology. The system has no regeneration process and does not need to use diesel particulate filter, so it does not need maintenance or even replacement like the common post-treatment system, so it provides users with a simpler, more general and more economical solution

in order to meet the requirements of Tier 4 final emission standard, Volvo Pentax applied it to the selective catalytic reduction (SCR) technology of Tier 4 interim engine for secondary transformation. This technology will be AdBlue? Injected into the exhaust pipe, it reacts with harmful nitrogen oxides (NOx) in the catalytic converter and decomposes into nitrogen and water. NOx is produced at high temperature, so light EGR device is added to further reduce the content of NOx by reducing the peak combustion temperature of the engine

Volvo panda concentrates on the research and development of new functions to help users improve the energy efficiency of linear displacement sensors. For example, the start and stop function is developed for 5-liter and 7-Liter Tier 4 interim engines. When the engine passes the predetermined idle time, it will automatically shut down until the operator has stepped on the pedal or engaged the gear, and then restart. This function can reduce fuel consumption, emissions and noise

Volvo Group's strong strength

in addition to Volvo Pentax, three brother companies, Volvo Construction equipment, Volvo truck and Mike truck, also participated in CONEXPO, demonstrating the strong strength of Volvo Group and the advantages of cooperation between Volvo Pentax and brother enterprises. In order to emphasize the compatibility of products, Volvo Pentax specially exhibited its tad7345 Ge generator set at the booth of Volvo Construction Equipment on the evening of 27th. This product is a product developed in cooperation with Tradewinds, and was featured in the American documentary "gold rush"
